Mozambique Horse Safaris offers you our new Volunteer Programme which is aimed at gap year students and volunteers  who are looking to discover the culture of Mozambique, develop their riding skills and make a difference!



The Volunteer Programme is based in Vilanculos and offers students the chance to acquire a wealth of information about equine management, riding skills and life in Africa. 



Each volunteer will have one and a half free days a week where they can visit the town, ride out in groups, practice in the school, join the football team, play tennis or get involved with other community projects.



Accommodation is provided in Vilanculos within easy walking distance of the two main paddock areas and a short bus ride from the town centre. Vilanculos offers access to internet cafes, ATMs, supermarket, restaurants, bars and much more. All volunteers are fully catered for and receive three excellent meals per day and a laundry service.



This project offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in horse riding and equine management. In addition to the work with horses you will also be introduced to Africa, poverty and the problems that are faced by the people of Mozambique. On a final note this is Africa, and for everyone to get the most from this project a good sense of humour is vital!
