Sailing in the bazaruto archipelago

The islands consist of huge 100m sand dunes, freshwater lakes, mangrove swamps and sandy beaches. The waters surrounding the islands are home to more than 80 percent of all marine fish families of the Indo-Pacific. You are likely to spot whales, dolphins, turtles and the only viable dugong population remaining in this part of the world. The rare Dugongs are found living in shallow waters where they seem to have found the resources and protection they need to survive.
