Horse Riding in Africa

LATEST COMMENTS:

"Mozambique is the most beautiful country in the world for beach-riding. It is heaven. The horses themselves are lovely: safe, well-schooled and great fun to ride. I spent a week pinching myself to check I wasn't dreaming."
Kate Kellaway - Journalist, The Observer Newspaper, United Kingdom.

"I fell in love with a lovely white Arab with whom I spent hours cantering along the beach, only stopping to watch the fishermen coming back with their catch of the day - which I knew would inevitably end up on my plate. What more do you need!
Joelle Boniface, Paris, France.

"I am lucky enough to have been on many riding holidays around the world but none quite as memorable as staying with Mozambique Horse Safari. I don't often say this, as the world is full of exciting places to visit, but i shall return."
Roz Hughes, United Kingdom.

GORONGOSA NATIONAL PARK
Add an African safari onto your horse riding holiday in Mozambique. Spend 4 days/3 nights at Gorongosa National Park. This trip is designed as an add-on trip after our horse safari and is suitable for people who have more time in Mozambique and would like to see wildlife. For more information on rates and itinerary please contact Mandy Retzlaff.

The Gorongosa National Park is situated in central Mozambique, five hours drive from Vilankulo. In the 1970s it was regarded as one of the best game viewing destinations in Africa, with a great diversity of wildlife. It suffered extremely badly during the civil war in Mozambique, but measures are now well under way to restore it to former glories.

There are lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo and a variety of antelope including sable, reedbuck, nyala and hartebeest. You are not assured to see some of these animals, but the park is unbelievably scenic and wild, a genuine taste of authentic Africa. It is a real attraction to be able to visit this stunning area before the crowds start to move back in.
